"In the late 1950s, just before I rode the TDF in '61, I would often do a training run round what you call the Long Route, on my own, in all weather, on 1950s technology". [Ken Laidlaw]
- New to the Laidlaw is the 85 miles challenge: same as the long route, but we turn off at Tushielaw to miss out the difficult climbs of the Berrybush, the Swire, the Woll and the Leap Linns, making the last 20 miles much easier.
- The short route: is still to 50 miles to Newcastleton via the Note o' the Gate and back by the Limekiln Edge
- The long route: is the stiff challenge of the 104 miles of Ken Laidlaw's training run!
- We still have the impressive massed start at 9am. £25 entry for ALL THREE ROUTES, all fully supported. CHOOSE YOUR ROUTE ON THE DAY!
- Charity support: The Heart Foundation; Blood Bikes Scotland EVS
- We don't have chip timing! It costs money and we would rather give to our charities and safety budget - but our man Colin has perfected the barcode system.
- When we swipe your number, hang your medal around your neck, our smileographer captures the moment, and Colin will have your time
- ENJOY YOUR DAY! THIS IS A SOCIAL EVENT RUN BY YOUR FRIENDS. FULL DETAILS HERE....
